Easton resident Sherri Pulie has won the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval and the Home Shopping Network’s Customer Choice Award for her Headache Hat, first written about here.
The $39.95 Headache Hat, a wearable ice pack for migraine and tension aches and pains, is adjustable, mess-free, and easy-to-wear – and not just for heads. Pulie began her winning design out of her Easton home to combat her own migraine pain. Four years later, she’s selling it out on HSN as part of a new product search program.
“I always knew I could sell this on TV and wanted to,” said Pulie, “but it really is surreal that it finally happened. Two years ago I was watching the movie Joy, thinking, ‘I know I can do that, but how can I get there?’
“Being chosen to be part of this contest with HSN and Good Housekeeping really meant so much. I know that so many people can use the Headache Hat - I hear from people all the time about how this product is so much a part of their lives and how much it helps.”
After her appearance on HSN in December, Pulie could barely keep up with the demand from HSN shoppers and her other channels including Amazon as well as her own website. Back on track with production, Pulie is now also bringing other ideas to market.
“I've got a patent-pending makeup tool that I have just started to sell,” said Pulie. “It's called the Clump Cleaner and it removes excess clumps and gunk from your mascara brush so you can apply clump free mascara. And I have other ideas that I hope to work on as well.”
Pulie admitted it’s been a physically demanding and emotional ride for her and her family, but she is is excited to see where it takes her.
“This journey started with my mom (who passed away 20 years ago) giving me ice bags for my headaches as a child,” said Pulie. “It just feels like she’s with me now, smiling about this.”
