Cumberland Farms In Monroe Sells $100K Winning Lottery Ticket

MONROE, Conn. — An Ansonia woman is richer — $100,000 richer — thanks to a lottery ticket she purchased at the Cumberland Farms in Monroe, lottery officials said.

For Kylee Farrington, it was an early birthday present when she bought the prize-winning ticket just before her 24th birthday. 

Farrington said she plays the lottery “once in a while” and was amazed when she revealed her “Jumbo Bucks” top prize.

The store clerk who sold her the ticket had a similar reaction. His “jaw dropped and he said, ‘Kylee, you just won!’ I thought he was lying!”

With her birthday around the corner, Farrington is planning to celebrate. To start, she wants commemorate her huge lottery win with a night out and dinner. She also said she is looking to pay off student loans and plan a vacation.

The top prize winning ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms #4767 located at 455 Main St. in Monroe. For selling the ticket, they will receive a $1,000 check from the CT Lottery.
