Scholarship Winner From Redding Joins 'Sing, O Ye Heavens' Concert

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The Westfair Singers will present "Sing, O Ye Heavens" at South Salem Presbyterian Church in South Salem on Dec. 5.

The women's choral ensemble will perform music by Beethoven, Handel and Porpora as well as traditional Christmas carols under the direction of Mary Jane Newman. 

Honorees of Westfair's inaugural Judith Hahnssen-Schwab Founder’s Scholarship Competition will be featured as guest vocalists during the concert. 

Katherine Emily Waugh, a soprano and senior at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Conn., won first place and received a $500 scholarship. 

Soprano Katerina Moor, a senior at New Canaan High School, won second place and a $250 award. 

Zoe Dweck, a violinist and senior at Pound Ridge's Fox Lane High School, tied for second place honors. 

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. 

Tickets are $20 in advance at www.westfair.org and $25 at the door.
