Redding's Mark Twain Library Kicks Off 43rd Annual Art Show

REDDING, Conn. -- Mark Twain Library's 43rd Annual Art Show fundraiser runs from Dec. 5 to 13 in Redding.

All the art work in the show will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the library. 

The juried show kicks-off with a champagne preview gala Friday, Dec. 4. This year's jurors are Alain Picard, who will judge the overall show, and Redding's own Charles Ray, who will judge the prizes. To attend call (203) 938-2545.

In the days following the gala, the library will host several programs including: 

Tuesday, Dec. 8 – Inside the Studio: An Art Demonstration. Award-winning artist Alain Picard will demonstrate his process with pastels at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 10, – The Seeds of Modern Art: A look at Cezanne and Matisse with ArtScapades at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 12 – Earring Workshop: For every pair of earrings made, one will be donated to a women’s shelter. Held from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 13 – Closing Ceremonies with the Joel Barlow High School Select Choir, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
