Founded in 2007, Sweet Pea Farms began when Stacy Murphy-Montovano was given two sick Icelandic sheep by way of Washington state. Vowing to care for her two new family members, the farm quickly grew to include exotic poultry as well as an array of beeswax and honey products. A master beekeeper, Murphy-Montovano ensures no part of the beehive goes unused. Shoppers can purchase beeswax candles, beeswax soaps, and of course, locally sourced honey. In most cases, the honey is sourced directly from hives in and around Redding.

For those looking to get an up-close look at how the delicacy is made, Sweet Pea offers tours and classes where novice beekeepers can try their hand at soap, wax and honey creation.
