Rounds Of Storms Knock Out Power In Connecticut: Communities Most Affected
Rounds of storms, some of which were severe, have caused numerous power outages in Connecticut.
As of around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, Eversource reported around 1,800 customers affected, and United Illuminating another 116.
Here are the communities with the most outages:

CT Mother, 5-Year-Old Daughter Found Dead In River, Police Say
A 39-year-old Connecticut mother and her 5-year-old daughter were found dead in the Shetucket River.
The incident took place in New London County around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 in the Park Drive area of Sprague.
Quinebaug Valley Dispatch contacted Connecticut State Police Troop E in Montville of a report of a mother and child lost in the Shetucket River, state police said.
State troopers, members of several area fire departments, and EMS responded to the scene.

A Connecticut woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a man she lived with who died after she allegedly pushed him into a doorway and he fell, hitting his head.
New London County resident Diane Nobleza, age 56, of Uncasville, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 25, by Connecticut State Police following an investigation into the death of a 64-year-old man in the town of Montville on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022.

Suspect Nabbed After Man, Pregnant Woman Shot At Newington Store
Two employees of a Connecticut auto parts store were shot, including a pregnant woman, during a robbery.
The incident took place in Hartford County around 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 in Newington at the O’Reilly Auto Parts located at 3443 Berlin Turnpike.
According to Sgt. Ryan Deane, of the Newington Police, officers responded to the store for a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including the pregnant woman who was shot in shot in the calf and hip as she tried to flee, police said.
