Dramatic Rescue: CT Family Saved From Blaze By Off-Duty Firefighter Plowing Roads An off-duty Fairfield County firefighter saved a family of four and three dogs from a fire while plowing roadways in the area. The incident occurred in Fairfield County around 3:50 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 7 on Haviland Drive in Trumbull. Chief Greg Sanfanandre of the Long Hill Fire Company said Shaun Bogen, a town highway maintainer and firefighter with the same company, was working his snowplow when he noticed a garage fire.
