Waterbury Man Charged For 2019 Fairfield County Murder After almost four years a Connecticut man has been charged in connection with a brutal beating murder of a Fairfield County man in front of a grocery store. Luis Hernandez, age 44, of Waterbury, was arrested by US Marshals on a warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 4, and charged in the 2019 murder of Miguel Lopez, age 46, in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport. Person Seriously Injured After Crash At CT Intersection One person was seriously injured during a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County. It happened in Bridgeport around 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30 at East and Barnum avenues. Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, said the crash involved a motorcycle and a vehicle, with the motorcyclist injured. According to the MTA, the person fell on the tracks and was struck by a train from New Haven traveling to Grand Central Station. CT Man Found Shot To Death In Car, Police Say Police are investigating after a man from the region was found shot to death on a city street. Fairfield County resident Michael Harrigan, age 42, of Bridgeport, was discovered by police around 4:45 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, after receiving a call for an unresponsive man in a car. CT Teacher Arrested For Sexual Abuse Of Students, Police Say A teacher at a Fairfield County military academy has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing two students. Litchfield County resident Samantha Peck, of Thomaston, a teacher at the Bridgeport Military Academy, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 8, by Bridgeport Police. According to Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport, Peck was arrested on two warrants, each charging her with sexual assault. Peck was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
