Salerno's Apizza called Stratford home for decades, but in a Facebook post, owner Carlo Salerno said he is finalizing negotiations to open a new storefront in Shelton. He can't say exactly where it will be.

While we can’t reveal the exact location just yet as we are still negotiating on the exact location, we promise it’s coming soon! Once everything is confirmed, you’ll be the first to know! And… from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your incredible patience and continued support throughout this transition. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new home!

He closed the post with "Stay tuned."

The post is filled with dozens of excited posts.

"Can't wait congratulations sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear where you guys are going to be located in Shelton," one woman wrote.

"Hopefully this new place isn’t too far into Shelton, we’d all go anyway even it was an hour away!" someone else posted.

Salerno's Apizza closed in June 2023, citing difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, a worker shortage, and a recession affecting restaurant owners in Connecticut as reasons the owners shuttered the restaurant.
