STRATFORD, Conn. — A woman found bound with duct tape in a Stratford motel Wednesday had not been abducted from Iowa as she had claimed, police said Friday.
On Wednesday, Stratford police responded to the Honeyspot Motor Inn on a call of a possible abduction.
Officers found a woman bound with duct tape in one of the motel rooms and learned she had been reported missing in Iowa on New Year’s Eve, police said.
But during the investigation, officers learned that she had left Iowa voluntarily and made a false claim that she was held against her will, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed in the case, police said.
