In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, the Princeton Street pantry received large food donations from Bridgeport’s St. Ann Church, Unquowa School in Fairfield and the Torch Club of Wakeman Boys & Girls Club. Bridgeport Gives Thanks To Veterans With Free Turkey Day Fixings BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The city’s Veterans Affairs office made Turkey Day a little tastier for dozens of veterans, passing out bags of free Thanksgiving trimmings at their East Main Street offices Monday. “We’re in the time of gratitude at Thanksgiving,” said Health Director Martiza Bond, overseeing the annual distribution. City workers had already donated to about 60 vets in the first 20 minutes of the distribution.
