Snow Falls Wednesday In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — It may still be early November, but snow was falling and sticking in Stamford on Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the area until 6 a.m. Thursday and expects 1 to 4 inches of snow to accumulate. The heaviest snow was expected to fall Wednesday afternoon, the advisory said.

There is also a high wind advisory and coastal flood warning issued for the area from the National Weather Service as Stamford is hit with a nor’easter.

The city issued a news release Tuesday afternoon saying the Emergency Operations Center will be partially open as more flooding, downed trees and power outages are expected with this storm.

Stamford Public Schools have canceled all after-school programs for Wednesday but have not called for an early dismissal.

The Stamford YMCA will be closing early, at 8 p.m., because of the weather.

The Ferguson Library's T-Mad meeting has been canceled for Wednesday. 

Stamford Recreation has canceled all programs for Wednesday.
