Fatal Crash: 18-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Trumbull
A teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a Connecticut roadway.
It happened around 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, in Fairfield County, on southbound Route 25 in Trumbull.
A 2013 BMW X1 was traveling southbound when another BMW, an X5, approached it.
According to Connecticut State Police, the X5 "maneuvered to the right, sideswiping the passenger side rear" of the X1.
The X5 lost control, veered into the median, and rolled over, hitting several trees.

A Fairfield County man has been charged with assault and risk of injury to a child after he was seen on video biting, licking, and hitting a young boy on a school bus.
Juan Carlos Rodriguez, age 27, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, June 17, by Darien Police for the incident that occurred in April on a school bus.

22-Year-Old Killed In Fiery 2-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield County, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was killed during a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to burst into flames.
It took place in Trumbull around 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15 in the area of the Monroe Turnpike.
According to Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police Department, the crash occurred when an Infiniti collided with a Subaru Crosstrek on the Monroe Turnpike near the intersection of Monroe Turnpike, or Route 111, and Technology Drive.

Wife Of Fairfield County Man Killed In Crash Dies From Injuries
The wife of a Fairfield County man killed in a single-vehicle crash has died from her injuries.
Noelli Escarraga, age 69, and his wife, Maria Escarraga, age 62, both of Bridgeport were the only occupants in the vehicle, and have been identified as the two victims killed in the accident, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police Department.

Fairfield County Man Sentenced After Selling Fentanyl Involved In Overdose Death, Feds Say
A Fairfield County man has been sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison for selling fentanyl to a man who later died from an overdose.
John Matthews, also known as “Jay” and “Gotti,” age 36, of Bridgeport, was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 30 to prison time in addition to three years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, a 35-year-old man in Trumbull died of a drug overdose.

Vehicle Crashes Through Fairfield County Garage, Then Hits Neighboring Home
A Fairfield County home suffered serious structural damage when a resident driving a new car crashed through the garage of a home and into the side of another.
The incident took place around 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 15, when the resident of one of the homes at 360 Old Town Road, in Trumbull, crashed through the closed garage, said the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Department.
The vehicle continued through the attached garage, then crashed into and breached the rear wall of a neighbor's home, causing a partial structural collapse, the department said.

Man Attacks Officer While Fleeing Scene Of Crash In Trumbull, Police Say
A man was apprehended after he assaulted a police officer before allegedly fleeing from the scene of a motor vehicle crash in Fairfield County and leading police on a search that lasted for several hours.
The incident began Wednesday, Dec. 9, in the evening, when Damien A. Sanchez, 41, of Bridgeport, assaulted an off-duty Trumbull Police officer at an accident scene on Main Street, as he fled, but was eventually apprehended by police a short distance away, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir.
