State Police Ramp Up Patrols For July 4th Travel As thousands of drivers travel in record numbers during the upcoming extended holiday weekend, Connecticut State Troopers said they will patrol in increased numbers to keep roads and highways safe for all drivers. July 4 is on Wednesday, allowing a mid-week excursion for beach outings, cookouts and fireworks.
