Alex Jones Ordered To Pay Sandy Hook Shooting Victim's Family A Total Of $49M Far-right radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered by a Texas jury to pay nearly $50 million to the family of a young boy killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. In a unanimous decision Friday, Aug. 5, the jury said Jones must pay $45.2 million in punitive damages in a lawsuit filed by the parents of 6-year-old victim Jesse Lewis. Judge Throws Out Parents' Sandy Hook Lawsuit A judge has denied a lawsuit filed by the parents of two children killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre against the town of Newtown and its school district. In a 29-page decision, Connecticut Superior Court Judge Robin Wilson granted the town's request for summary judgment saying the school officials' actions were protected by governmental immunity. The case was filed by the parents of slain students Jesse Lewis and Noah Pozner.
