Red Fox Stops By New Canaan Home: They 'Need Not Be Feared,' Officials Say
A red fox made a surprise visit to a Fairfield County home as the homeowner's cat watched while safely indoors.
The visit happened at a New Canaan home on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
The curious critter, identified as a red fox by its reddish fur, black legs and ears, and white-tipped tail, was seen venturing onto the homeowner's porch and yard.
According to the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP), the animals are commonly found living near human residences, as they can find plenty of food, water, and shelter, especially in yards.

One of the latest came on New Year's Day in New Canaan.
The critter was on full display, showing off its distinct ears, and a rather feisty demeanor after being spotted in the backyard of a residence in town.
As shown in the photos above, after then stretching its leg, the cat quickly plans an exit strategy.

Coast Guard, Crews Search For Missing Teen Kayaker In Connecticut River
Update
The Coast Guard suspended their search Tuesday at 5 p.m., for a missing teen kayaker in the water near the mouth of the Connecticut River.
Missing is William Zadrozny, an 18-year-old reportedly wearing work boots, a gray and yellow jacket, and jeans.
“After working with our port partners to search extensively throughout the night and today, we’ve made the difficult decision to suspend the search,” said Cmdr.
