Lt. Col. Donald E.Lundberg, 91, Of Rutherford
RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Lt. Col. Donald E. Lundberg, a resident of Rutherford for 47 years, died Saturday, July 9. He was 91.
Born in 1925 in Mt. Jewett, Pa., he was the son of Bert and Emelia Lundberg.
He proudly served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and, entering the service in 1944. He belonged to the 20th Air Force, 58th Bomb Wing, 793rd Squadron and 468th Bomb Group. His unit was stationed in the Tinian Islands in 1945.

Shelton's Soupstock Festival Continues Music & Arts Tradition
SHELTON, Conn. – For the seventh straight year, crowds headed for Veterans Memorial Park in Shelton this past weekend to enjoy the annual Soupstock Music & Arts Festival.
The festival, which benefits the Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund, offered fun activities for people of all ages, from vendors selling food and wares to a bounce house to live music on two stages.

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Josephine Sheridan Biggins, formerly of Pearl River, died Monday, July 4. She was 78.
Born Aug.10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ellen Biggins.
She attended St. Barnabas High Schoo in the Bronx.
She was a homemaker for 57 years, as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and The Pearl River Ambulance Corps. She was a devout Catholic whose faith and fortitude inspired all who knew her.

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – Blanche Jokonis VanDemark, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died Thursday, July 7. She was 94.
Born Feb. 2, 1922, in Carbondale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Sophie Shajul Docalovich.
She did a lot of volunteer work for numerous organizations, including Meals on Wheels of Hyde Park, The American Cancer Society and Regina Coeli Church and School. PAWLING, N.Y. – Robert Emmett Kanthak, a resident of Pawling for more than 20 years, died Saturday, July 9. He was 91.
Born May 9, 1925, in Chicago, he was the son of Emil and Cecelia (Maloney) Kanthak.
He grew up in Chicago and worked part time at his father’s bakery, helping make the bread early in the morning before he went to school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served as a radarman while on the USS Barton, the USS Vincennes and the USS Vicksburg, before being discharged in 1946. Born Nov. 7, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and the late Madeline Kennard.
She married Harry J. Evers III Jan. 6, 1979 in Millbrook. She retired from Arlington Central School District as the assistant director of transportation. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Lois Holden Mott, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, July 6. She was 88.
Born Jan.13,1928, in her family home, she was the only child of Joseph B. Holden and Clara M. (Hait) Holden of Wappingers Falls. She lived with her parents for 24 years and then moved back into the family home for 23 more years in the later years of her life.
After graduation from Wappingers High School in 1945, she worked at Western Printing and Central Hudson, both in Poughkeepsie, before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Wappingers Falls United Methodist Church.
