BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – George Hodges Garfield Jr., of Bridgeport, died on Friday, June 26 of ALS. He was 58.
Garfield was born in Stamford on June 17, 1957, to Barbara and George Garfield, and was a great-great-grandson of U.S. President James Garfield.
He graduated from Darien High School, Colorado College and the University of Denver, working in commercial real estate for La Salle Partners, the Walt Disney Company, Universal Vivendi, Lightship Ventures, and Transwestern Commercial Services.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Mary "Tippy" Maffucci Vitetta, of Sleepy Hollow, died Friday, July 3, at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow. She was 85.
Vitetta was born on May 5, 1930 to Dominick and Rose Friere Maffucci in what was then North Tarrytown, graduating from North Tarrytown High School and the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City.

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Carol M. Isolini, of Lake Peekskill, died on Monday, July 6. She was 59.
Isolini was born on Jan. 9, 1956, in the Bronx to Aldo and Grace Schinella.
She worked at Westchester Country Club in Rye for more than 10 years.

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Philip Joseph 'Bud' Beichert, Jr., of Bronxville, died on Tuesday, July 7. He was 84.
Beichert was born on Oct. 9, 1930, in Kingston, N.Y., to Philip Joseph, Sr. and Gertrude (Connors) Beichert.
He graduated from St. John's Prep School in Danvers, Mass., and served in the Navy during the Korean War, earning a commendation for bravery.
After his service, he graduated from the University of Rhode Island and began working as a salesman of fine paper.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Joseph R. Giannotti, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on Monday, July 6. He was 86.
Giannotti was born on Aug. 14, 1928, in New Rochelle to Joseph and Mary (D'Onofrio) Giannotti.
He served in the Marines, and after his service, he was an officer in the New Rochelle Police Department for more than 27 years.

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Richard L. Hayes, of Yonkers, died on Sunday, July 5. He was 75.
Hayes was born on Jan. 11, 1940, to Thomas and Mildred (Bell) Hayes in Chase City, Va.
He moved to the area and worked as a security guard for Summit Security in Hartsdale.

Westport Discussion Focuses On Saugatuck River Water Quality
WESTON, Conn. -- The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is compiling results from a survey intended to take a look at the water quality for the 11 towns in the Saugatuck River area.
Plans are to hold discussion groups in each town - Danbury, Bethel, Newtown, Ridgefield, Redding, Easton, Weston, Westport, Wilton, Fairfield and Norwalk.
TNC wants to hear from residents and how the quality issues in the area and Long Island Sound affect them.
The online survey will close on July 13, with plans to set up focus groups on Wednesday and Thursday, July 15 and 16. All who participate in the focus group…
