Youth Football Players Train At Stamford Camp

STAMFORD, Conn. – More than 30 youth football players from Stamford, Darien and Greenwich participated in the Gametime Advantage football camp on Thursday evening.

Held three times a week at Stamford High School, the camp is run by Shawn Foster, an alum of the school, to help youth football players stay sharp during the off-season.

Foster developed drills for 7-through-13-year-olds with the support of former Stamford High School football coach Kevin Jones. Foster and Jones were teammates at Central, and they have developed techniques that improve flexibility, strength and endurance.

In addition to football training drills, the camp members are also being taught agility and speed skills by Westhill High track coach Todd Page.

Foster said he hopes interest in the camp will increase as it gets closer to football season so he can run a five-day program.
