Stamford Youth Football League Action

STAMFORD, Conn. ? The following recaps highlight recent game action in the Stamford Youth Football League.

VARSITY DIVISION: 

Scofield 29, Turn of River 20 Scofield Varsity beat TOR Varsity, 29-20, to take over first place in the Stamford youth football varsity division. The Scofield offense was led by Kyle Przypek (one TD ) with the help of Donny Depina (one TD), Mark Serricchio (two TDs and a key defensive interception) and George Nikolopulous. They all ran succesfully due to the key blocking of Ryan Holbrook, Carl Gedeon, Tyler Cubano, Trey Gorey and RJ Pascale. Defensive standouts were Ja-ki Smith, Will Dorlivier, Mike Repegno, Joe Nova and Picard Petion. 

Dolan 24, Trailblazers 18 The Dolan offense was led by Jay Devito, who threw for two TDs and ran for one. Kevin Fuller caught a 40-yard TD pass, and Dan Maduri also caught a touchdown pass and was 3-for-3 on PATs. The Dolan defense was led by Johnny Somers and Hunter Linnin. 

Trinity 26, Rippowam 16. Trinity was led on offense by Stephon Alexis with two TD passes, one to Maradona Cadet and one to Cameron Kelly, and the offensive line of Jonathan Molina, Jordan Skiba and Hunter Bridges. The Trinity defense was led by Malik Lauture (fumble recovery), Tyrik Lauture, Paul Spadaccini, Robert Shtufaj, Jonathan Molina and Christian Conte.

Cloonan 48, New Haven 0  Cloonan was led by Devante Jeffers, Tanner Gibbs, Rigo Carranza, Max Atkinson, Reynerio Barrientos, Markeith Black and Dan Hogan.

 

JV DIVISION

Dolan 20, Turn of River 13  Dolan's offense was led by Scott Moreau (two touchdowns, one rushing and a 70-yard kickoff return). Antonio Robertson added another 70-yard rushing touchdown behind the offensive line of Adam Piersa, Anthony Cogliano, Woody Mcguiness, Alex Colon and Jose Nieves. The Dolan defense was led by John Kola, Jason Baez, Presley Saint Pierre, Kareem Ray and Dylan Fyffe. 

Cloonan 27, Trinity 0 The Cloonan offense was led by Kevin Costello with a TD passes to Dean Depreta and John Newton. Nick Melia and Jeremy Young ran for two additional touchdowns. Other offensive standouts included Tarik Rivers, Jose Lopez, Carlos Carranza and Saquan Kelly. Leading the Cloonan defense were Depreta, Brison Dean, Alan Nowlin and Josh Vindas. For Trinity, the leaders were Brian Noone, Joey Torres, Jack Kennedy, Tyler Austin, Kevin Marin, Devon Huson, Lucas Breault and BJ Chaltas..

Rippowam defeated Trailblazers 27-6. Scofield had a bye 

ELEMENTARY DIVISION 

Giants 34, Titans 6  Isaiah Williams ran for three touchdowns and Tahjee Morgan ran for one. Jaki Elliott, Dayvont'e McElveen and Ja'den Hosten provided great blocking for the offense. The Giant defense was led by Isaiah Johnson (interception return for a touchdown), Kenneth Dyson, Anthony Cooper, Laron Webster, Karl Davis and Ja'Den Williams. 

Raiders 26,  Jets 7  The Raiders were led by Bobby Zmarzlak with one receiving touchdown and two rushing touchdown. AJ Lacconna had one rushing touchdown as well. Noah Skaug had one touchdown pass and made one extra point. Also playing well on offense were Kyle Yelensky and Joe Gambino. The raider defense was led by Dan D’Arinzo, Christian Frattaroli, Kyle McGarry, John Giambalvo, Kyle Pearson, Ryan Scarvey and Matt Vahsen. The Jet offense was led by Lenny Garcia (touchdown), Jack Dewing (PAT), Anthony Anderson, LaCaiye Compere, Bryce Barnwell, Joseph Boccuzzi, Daniel Brennan, John Liberatore and Dylan Friese. The Jet defense was led by Patrick Evans, Marcellous Bell, James Gerard, Blaze Mitchell, Sean Mullins, Nicholas Cherubin, Sean Mullen, Jason Adams and Christopher Whittaker.

Cowboys 28, Patriots 20  The Cowboy offense was led by Jaden Dawkins, who rushed for over 150 yards on the day and returned a kickoff for a touchdown. AJ Rakoczy ran two bootlegs for touchdowns and kicked two PATs. Also scoring for the Cowboys was Austin Byrnes on a 15-yard run. Evan Field had a pass reception. The offensive line was led by Ben Servedio and Jay Lockwood. The Cowboy defense was led by Aaron Watkins, Tyler Gillman, Terrance Mapp Jr. and Anthony Possidento. The Patiot offense was led by Isan Spruill, who had two touchdowns. Jonathon Oliveri scored the third, with the points after scored by Emory Alexis and Caleb Benkwitt. The offensive line was anchored by Michael Vakos, Jacob Lefort and Caleb Green. The Patriot defense was led by Dylan Johnson, Nyjah Watkin, Emory Alexis (interception), Caleb Benkwitt, Harry Mascola and Kyle Markes.

MITEY MITE DIVISION

The Wolverines battled the Huskies on Sunday. The Wolverine offense was led by  Amir Preston (two rushing touchdowns), Cameron Cahoon (rushing touchdown, fumble recovery), Angelo Pellicci, Joey Giambalvo, Darian Murray and Tristan Pearl. The defensive effort was led by Tommy Foster, Carl Coridon and Dylan McGarry (fumble recovery). The Huskies were led by Jamaree Palermo, Jerry Conetta, Ben Pannella, Devin Bates, Ilias Moumene and Curley Harkness III. The Longhorns battled the Gators on Sunday. The Longhorns were led on offense by Jaylen Lesperance (TD) and Reggie Booker (TD) behind the blocking of Anthony Andrade and Luis Moran. Defensively, the Longhorns were led by Omari Lewis, Danny Simms, Jason Morataya and Rohan Minott.
