Stamford Teams Start Spring Season

Westhill High School opens the softball season Wednesday as the defending Class LL champion as the high school spring sports season sprints into high gear.

The Vikings travel to Norwalk for a 4 p.m. game. Westhill won its first title since 1992 last year. In home games Wednesday at Westhill, the baseball team meets Norwalk at Cubeta Stadium at 3:30 p.m. and the boys lacrosse team plays Greenwich at 5 p.m. Girls tennis plays Danbury at home at 4 p.m. The boys tennis and girls track teams travel to Danbury. Stamford's baseball team opens its season at Fairfield Warde. The softball team hosts Warde at 4 p.m. Other home games on Wednesday include boys lacrosse against Trumbull and boys tennis against Ridgefield. The boys golf team plays Bassick, Harding and Bridgeport Central at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Bridgeport and the girls tennis team travels to Ridgefield. Trinity Catholic's baseball team travels to Stratford for a non-league game at 3:45 p.m. The boys tennis team hosts Greenwich, and the girls tennis squad travels to Greenwich. Both matches begin at 4 p.m. The complete Trinity Catholic spring sports schedule is available online.
