Stamford Senior Legion Takes Playoff Opener

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Post 3 Senior Legion baseball team made its long drive to Enfield worth it Tuesday. Seeded 30th in the Connecticut state tournament, Post 3 scored 13 unanswered runs after trailing Enfield 4-0. Ryan Kosterich threw a complete game and Stamford moves on to the second round of play-in games with a 13-5 victory.

Stamford scored four in the fifth, three in the sixth, three in the seventh and three in the top of the ninth. Six Stamford batters had multiple hits.

Stamford takes on RCP on Wednesday in the second play-in game. If Stamford comes away with a victory, it moves on to the Sweet Sixteen, held at Muzzy Field in Bristol and Palmer Field in Middletown.
