Stamford Runners Race in Mother's Day 10K

Runners from Stamford were among the 354 finishers in Sunday's 34th annual Mother's Day 10K road race at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. Bridgeport's Wantuil Souza won the men's race, and Norwalk's Julie Heaphy won the women's division. The race was sponsored by the Lightfoot Running Club.

Ricardo De Biase was the top Stamford finisher, taking eighth in 41:11. Erika Govan was the top Stamford woman in 44:00, finishing 23rd.

Other Stamford runners that fared well in their age groups included Arthur Harris, who was second in boys 1-12 age division; Patrick Gimlett, fourth in the men's 19-29; Alain Benzaken, who was third in the men's 50-59 age group; and Charles Allen, who was fifth in the men's 60-69 age division.
