Founder of an online media company.
TV analyst.
Twitter and Instagram accounts with nearly 600,000 followers.
Fairfield County native Will Weinbach is all those things.
He's also just 16 years old.
His meteoric rise started after he instantly fell in love with tennis when he was introduced to it at the age of 4 at Fairfield Indoor Tennis.
At age 10 Weinbach found himself ranked Top 20 in New England for the boys 12-and-under division.
The first taste of accomplishment sparked his lifelong passion for the sport of tennis. Two years later, Weinbach and family, twin brother Max, and parents Peter and Janine, relocated to Los Angeles.
Shortly after their move, the new environment served as a catalyst for Weinbach to pursue innovative opportunities. Following his love for tennis, Weinbach founded an online media channel centered around all things tennis, Cross Court TV.
Soon after the creation of the channel, Cross Court TV took off as over 116,000 people followed its Instagram account to keep up with their favorite tennis players, products, and view highlights and interviews.
“I really think that the passion I have for tennis ever since I was young, really attracted people to the site, because it gives other tennis fans an opportunity to connect with someone equally as passionate about the sport," Weinbach said.
Weinbach's passion for tennis, has also led to some other opportunities, including interviews with such big names in the sport as Rafael Nadal, Nick Bollittieri and David Goffin.
Weinbach, now a junior at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California says his favorite experience was “having the opportunity to return to the East Coast and commentate on the set of ESPN alongside Patrick McEnroe and Trey Wingo" as a USTA "NetGeneration KidCaster."
In the next few months, Weinbach and family plan to move back to Fairfield and Weinbach will enroll at a school in the county.
