Stamford's Holy Spirit School Gets New Library

STAMFORD, Conn. – When students at Holy Spirit School in Stamford arrived for the first day of school, they found a new library waiting for them. Parents had the library renovated over the summer to better serve the school.

The project included new flooring, paint, bookcases, tables, chairs, computer workstations and more, a release said. The pre-school section received a giraffe-print rug and reading area.

The redone library was unveiled to parents and students last week with Father Robert Hyl, the pastor at Holy Spirit, blessing the new space. The kids also received a tutorial in how to navigate the different sections of the library from school librarian Marguerite Hajjar.

The Home School Association at Holy Spirit has held numerous fundraisers over the past several years to pay for the renovation, and is now working to get more books for the students in grades 1-5.

Last year, an online catalog system was implemented at Holy Spirit.
