Stamford Schools Closed Monday

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Superintendent Dr. Winifred Hamilton said Saturday via her Twitter account.

There is no power in five schools, and the superintendent said she hopes school will resume Wednesday, the Tweet said.

The district had already scheduled to close schools Tuesday for Election Day.

Hamilton reported Friday that four schools did not have power.

Hamilton said Friday the district would send buses through the city Saturday to see if the bus routes were clear and if the sidewalks were safe for children.
