Molgano Takes Stamford's 144th District

STAMFORD, Conn. — Republican Michael Molgano beat out Democrat Michael Pollard in the race for Stamford’s state representative seat in the 144th District, 4,686 to 4,304, on Tuesday.

Molgano, 53, is a lifelong Stamford resident. Before being elected to the General Assembly in 2010, he served  on Stamford’s Board of Representatives, covering two districts from 2002 to 2010.

Both Molgano and Pollard agreed that jobs and the economy were the two biggest issues facing their district. Molgano has said he would and has been working to decrease regulations to help small businesses grow and thrive. Pollard said he would work to identify the state’s strengths and leverage them against other markets throughout the world.

Pollard, 58, works as a consultant at System Integrations and has lived in Stamford for 21 years. He served on Stamford’s Board of Finance from 2003 to 2009.
