The three suspects approached a group walking on Atlantic Street and pepper-sprayed them, Wuennemann said. While the victims were trying to recover from the spraying, one of the suspects took an iPhone from one of the victims, he said.

Two of the suspects were described as transgender individuals, and the third as possibly 6-foot-7, with blonde hair, the captain said.

Police found the three suspects on Smith Street, the captain said. They were identified as Casey Medley, 21, of Stamford, Ronald Brown, 23, of Baltimore, and Christopher Schenck, 23, of Baltimore, Wuennemann said.

The victims identified the suspects as their attackers, and police found the iPhone in the possession of one of the suspects, Wuennemann said.

All three are expected to be charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree assault and conspiracy charges to commit those crimes, police said.
