Police had received a tip that 27-year-old Ricardo Georges was selling drugs in the South End area of Stamford, and stopped him on Ludlow and Cedar Streets on Saturday afternoon, according to the Stamford Advocate. While he was being patted down, he behaved violently towards officers, and was eventually subdued with a Taser, the Stamford Advocate reported.
While being put into a police car, he slammed the door into the hand of Sgt. Rich Phelan, the Stamford Advocate reported. Phelan suffered an injury to his hand and was treated at Stamford Hospital, police told the Stamford Advocate.
At the time of his arrest, Georges was in possession of a knife, several bags of crack cocaine, and three bags of marijuana, police told the Stamford Advocate. He was arrested on a number of charges, including possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, according to the Stamford Advocate.
