A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a 14-year-old boy in Darien and police are asking the public's help in finding the motorist.

The teen was riding his bicycle on Old Kings Highway South near the intersection of Locust Hill Road on Thursday, July 11 around 8:50 a.m., according to Darien Police.

As he was headed south towards Locust Hill Road, he crossed from the west side of the street to the east side as he approached the intersection of Locust Hill Road, police said.

The vehicle was described as a dark-colored sedan/hatchback, possibly a BMW, according to police.

No further information was available. The boy was taken to Stamford hospital where it was determined he suffered a broken bone and numerous abrasions, police said.
