STAMFORD, Conn. — The Stamford Police Department has an opening for the position of public safety dispatcher.

Stamford Police is now accepting applications to take the exam to become a Public Safety Dispatcher. The deadline to apply is Feb. 28.

The city is testing applicants for this position. All interested and qualified candidates must apply to take the exam by the Feb. 28 deadline.

A dispatcher uses radio, computer terminal or telephone to receive and record reports of emergency and non-emergency information, complaints, messages, and requests for service, assistance or coverage.

In addition, the duties are to transmit reports and messages to police staff, among functions.

Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited high school.
