Another Stamford Man Charged In Large-Scale Drug Operation

STAMFORD, Conn. — Another Stamford man has been arrested as part of joint operation by the Stamford Police Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency that led to the arrest of 10 people last week.

Timothy Armstrong, 48, of Stamford turned himself in on a warrant and was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, sale of narcotics and sale of marijuana. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

Armstrong is the 11th person arrested as part of the operation. Last week police conducted a series of raids that began as early as 5:15 a.m. Thursday and continued into the afternoon, Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin said.

Tactical SWAT teams were used in the raids, as many of the suspects have a history of being involved in violence and possessing weapons, Conklin said. The suspects were very active in drug sales in the West Side of Stamford, as well as other locations.

Police seized large amounts of weapons, crack, cocaine, marijuana and heroin, Conklin said.
