According to Hohn, here is what happened:

A Greenwich woman in her mid-30s was outside the Stamford Government Center on Washington Boulevard at about 5 p.m. when two black males on BMX bicycles rode up from behind her and grabbed her phone.

They continued riding south on Washington Boulevard, disabling the phone.

This is the 11th reported incident in which teenagers on bikes have stolen cellphones from women, Hohn said. Nearly all of the incidents have happened downtown, near the train station between 4 and 7 p.m. with women as the victims and the phone being disabled before it is able to be tracked, he said.

“Every day we’re getting hit,” Hohn said Thursday. He released the above video a previous incident that took place on North State Street.

He believes the phones are being sold for cash and can be worth as much as $200.

Hohn said people should not use their phones while walking and should stay to their surroundings.
