STAMFORD, Conn. — Services have been scheduled for Matthew Klein, a practicing real estate attorney of Stamford, who died over the weekend. He was 62.
Klein was found dead Dec. 2 in the driveway of a home Pound Ridge, N.Y. There were no signs of foul play, and police are continuing to investigate.
Matthew Klein was the husband of Debra Adler-Klein for 40 years. He was born Feb. 2, 1955, the son of Marion Klein and the late Howard Klein.
He grew up in Port Washington, N.Y., and at the age of 16 met his wife. "Their 46-year love story was filled with love and laughter, mutual respect and support for each other and their wonderful family," according to his obituary.
Klein graduated from Columbia University in 1977 and Fordham Law School in 1981. He was a practicing real estate attorney in New York City and in Stamford.
He was an active member of Temple Beth El's Board of Trustees and Men's Club.
"He was always there for his family and friends and helped more people than we could ever count with his generosity, knowledge and kindness," his obituary said. "More than anything, Matthew loved spending time with his family, rooting for the Yankees, skiing, sailing, barbecuing for the whole family on a Sunday afternoon, and walking and caring for his dogs."
In addition to his wife and mother, Klein is survived by his children, Josh, Rachel, and Samantha, daughter-in-law Morgan, and future son-in-law Thomas; grandchildren Zachary and baby Charlotte; brother Josh; sister-in-law Bea; sister Amanda; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Judi and Lenny, Steve and Jill, Honni and Sylvan; and 22 nieces and nephews, and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Beth El in Stamford on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Temple Beth El Matthew Klein Memorial Fund for the maintenance and enhancement of the Sanctuary Garden.
