STAMFORD, Conn. – Richard A. Scalise, 95, of Stamford, died on Jan. 7.
He was born on April 3, 1919 in Greenwich, to Frank and Mary Roina Scalise.
Scalise was president and founder of Dickmont Plastics Corp., an injection molding plant founded in Stamford in 1955. He was a member and past officer of the Society of Plastic Engineers and a member of the Society of Plastics Industry. He was certified and completed the study forum in plastics as recognized by the Executive & Technical Staff of the Plastics Industries Technical Institute in February 1945. He held a degree from the plastics Institute of America and was a past president of the Stamford Foreman's Club.
Scalise was an avid golfer and a member of Sterling Farms Golf Club and E. Gaynor Brennan Golf Club and served on the Stamford Golf Authority. He was a member of the Italian Center and the Italian Center Men's Club of Stamford.
He is survived by his son Donald Scalise of Fairfield; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Scalise was predeceased by his parents; his junior high school sweetheart and wife of 71 years, Doris G. Scalise; his son Richard Scalise; daughter Elaine Twardy; and two brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be held at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church.
