He was born Jan. 17, 1933, in New York City to Silvio and Tessie Reggio-Punzi. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a photographer. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Punzi is survived by two daughters, Susan M. (Michael) Crowell and Barbara (John Travis) Punzi, both of Stamford; a son, Frank M. (Jodi) Punzi Jr., of New Jersey; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Laura Simoes, of South Carolina; and a brother-in-law, Anthony (Vita) DiGirolamo, of Stamford. He was predeceased by his wife, Camille Ann DiGirolamo-Punzi; and a brother, Peter Punzi.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Maurice Church in Stamford. Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
