STAMFORD, Conn. – Elissa Leonora Lord, of Stamford, died on Sunday, Aug. 30. She was 81.
Lord was born in Boston on Aug. 29, 1934, to Frank and Esther Valentine.
She spent time in New York City and Westchester before settling in Stamford.
Lord was an accomplished painter, exhibiting her works in Greenwich, Old Greenwich and Stamford, and was an AAU swimmer.
She is survived by four children; Elissa Pierce and husband, Denny; Robin of Nashua, N.H.; Frank Lord and his wife, Lacey of Antrim, N.H.; Robert Lord and his wife, Ann Marie of Katonah, N.Y., five grandchildren, and sister Linda Gibson and her husband John of Machias, Maine.
A funeral service will be at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave. in Stamford, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
No calling hours are planned and interment will be private.
