Lorusso was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Stamford, to Angelo and Donata Marie Orsino Lorusso. He
attended Stamford High School, Class of 1945, and Pace Institute where he earned a degree in accounting. He and his partner Anthony DeVito Jr. owned a business in Stamford for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was discharged from the Army in 1952 as sergeant first class.
Lorusso is survived by his wife, Angela Mancusi Lorusso; children, Michael (Lorraine) Lorusso of Norwalk, Joanne (Michael) Carpanzano of Stamford and Mark (Patricia) Lorusso of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Marie “Minnie” Zezima. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Carmella “Nellie”; and brothers, Danny, Tony, Paul and Charlie.
Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 12:40 p.m. and proceed to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at St John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
