Anne Howard, 92, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. – Anne Bak Howard, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Sept. 22. She was 92. 

She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Stamford to Michael and Mary Bujalos Bak. She graduated from Stamford High School and worked as a secretary for several years. She was a parishioner of St. Cecilia Church. 

Howard enjoyed being a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to sew and spent much of her time making clothes for herself and family members. 

She is survived by three children, Nancy (John) McCarthy, of Stamford, Michael (Mona) Howard, of Bridgeport, and Patricia Howard, of Monroe; three sisters: Irene Donch, Dorothy Konitshek and Virginia Bak; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Thomas W. Howard; a brother, Michael Bak; three sisters, Mary Dayton, Helen Raymond and Lorraine Cesareo; and a grandson, Steven Howard. 

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bosak Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Church in Stamford. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford.
