Stamford To Hold Vigil For Sandy Hook Shooting Victims

STAMFORD, Conn. — There will be a prayer vigil Sunday afternoon in Stamford honor the victims in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.

The event will include music, prayers, remarks and a time of silence, a press release said. People are invited to bring candles to light during the ceremony.

The mayor’s office as well as the Interfaith Council of Southwestern Fairfield County is co-sponsoring the vigil, and many local clergy members will participate. The vigil will start at 3 p.m. and will be held outside of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.
