Shopping at Stamford Store Supports Ballet School

The Ballet School of Stamford opened its doors 12 years ago as a place to train youngsters in the fine points of dance and has thrived artistically since then. But the costs have escalated, and the nonprofit school always is in need of funding to support its high-quality classes, programs and performances, Executive Director Marti Etter says.

The ballet school serves a diverse group of more than 300 students regardless of financial circumstances, offering scholarships to many.

To keep the beauty, discipline and character-building world of dance in the lives of Stamford youngsters, it is asking local residents to support the school today by shopping at Agabhumi, the best of Bali. The store, located at 22 Magee Ave., Stamford, is donating 20 percent of sales made throughout the day today – from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. – to the ballet school when shoppers mention it at checkout. Refreshments will be served between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
