STAMFORD, Conn. Longtime Stamford resident Merlean Powell Wilson, 78, died at Stamford Hospital on Sept. 17. She was born on Feb. 15, 1932, in Yazoo, Miss.
Wilson worked at Pitney Bowes for over 25 years as a receptionist.
She is survived by her sister, Christine Powell Wright; her brother, Wayon Powell, and his wife, Eloise; a grandson, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow Wilson, and daughter, Charlene Powell Wilson.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, with a funeral service to follow, at Union Baptist Church in Stamford. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Downer Funeral Home in Stamford.
