Man Facing Prison for Child Porn Busted Again

A former Stamford and Greenwich resident facing a prison sentence for filming himself having sex with an 8-year-old girl was arrested last week by the Greenwich Police Department on charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

William K. Oehne, 49, of 16201 Goodes Bridge Road, Amelia, Va., was in custody on federal charges Wednesday when police arrested him at state Superior Court in Stamford.

Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the department, said no further information on the arrest was being released at this time.

In October, Oehne pleaded guilty to producing child pornography and distributing child pornography, according to the U.S. attorney in Connecticut. From 2004 to 2006, when he was a resident of Fairfield County, Oehne photographed himself having sex with an 8-year-old girl after promising her gifts and threatening her.

Oehne, scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10, faces a mandatory prison term of 15 years with a maximum of 50 years. Oehne has been in federal custody since his arrest in Virginia on March 31, 2009. The FBI in New Haven, the FBI's Richmond Innocent Images National Initiative Task Force in Virginia, and local Connecticut police led the investigation.

The prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice's Project Safe Childhood Initiative, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
