Man Arrested After Trying to Lure Child

A 28-year-old Stamford man was arrested Monday evening after he had tried to lure a student to his car at Springdale Elementary School earlier in the day, police said.

The child refused, and when his mother picked him up, she wrote down the car's license plate number and reported it to police.

Later in the afternoon, the same vehicle was involved in an accident at Stamford High School, where it intentionally backed into another vehicle and then left the scene.

Stamford Police went to the vehicle owner's home and arrested Elizandro Llamas-Muralles, of 41 Ludlow St., was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Monday on multiple charges of breach of peace, evading responsibility, risk of injury to a child, criminal trespass and operating a motor vehicle illegally.

He is being held on $25,000 bond pending a court appearance Nov. 10.
