Howard Olsen, Pitney Bowes Employee

A funeral service was held Monday for lifelong Stamford resident Howard Olsen, who worked at Pitney Bowes for 42 years and died Nov. 10 at the age of 82.

Olsen was born April 14, 1928. As a sergeant in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Guam during the 1940s. After retiring from Pitney Bowes, he worked at Marshall's Trucking. Olsen was an honorary member of the Holy Name Athletic Club. Every year, he cooked for the annual Palm Sunday Communion Breakfast and Summer Outing. His hobbies included reading, golf, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Veronica Cervik Olsen; son Christian Olsen of Stamford; daughter Pam Iovino of Hamden; and his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Olsen was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
