Santa greeted children at the shelter as rows of age-appropriate gifts were handed out.

Matthew Mallardi, an Inspirica aide, said children ages 2 to 14 received the gifts.

The Inspirica shelter hosts 90 people in Stamford and 250 in all of its locations, Mallardi said. Residents take advantage of emergency and transitional programs that offer shelter from 90 days to two years.

"It's a valuable program because these may be the only gifts these children receive," he said.
