International Students Go Back To School With A New Perspective

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With the summer coming to an end, thousands of students are packing up their bags and heading around the block to school. For Ivy International's students, however, "back to school" means a experiencing in a new culture and a new country.

With the school year starting, more international students are making their way to American cities.

In preparation for the upcoming school year, Ivy International partnered with Concord Academy and Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, hosting two summer camps. Nearly 80 Chinese students participated in programs designed to help students acclimated to life the U.S. They participated in English proficiency classes, toured major cities and experienced American food and culture.

With the conclusion of summer and beginning of classes, Ivy International's staff works to make sure each student is comfortable in their new location by providing transportation, insurance and counseling services.

As school work begins, Ivy encourages students to achieve great things in the classroom, and offers several scholarship options. For example, the Excellence Beyond Classroom Scholarship is given to eight students who have an outstanding academic record and participate in other activities outside of school.
