With an opioid epidemic crippling many across the country, Stamford health and law enforcement officials are encouraging residents to get rid of old or unused medicine during the annual "Drug Take-Back Day" event on Saturday.
The event, which is a free anonymous and environmentally safe way to dispose of unwanted and unused medications, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stamford Police Department, 805 Bedford St.
Those taking part won't even have to get out of their vehicle by using a convenient drive-thru box.
No liquids or needles will be accepted.
