Three Nabbed For Illegally Hunting Deer At Night In Area
Three men were arrested by state Environmental Conservation Police for illegal deer hunting. The men, all from Southbury, were arrested Monday with the assistance of Woodbury Police and the Connecticut State Police after receiving numerous complaints of illegal deer hunting after sunset near the Roxbury Airport, said the EnCon Police. Area Attorney Admits Defrauding Elderly Clients
A partner at a Connecticut law firm has admitted to stealing more than two million dollars from an elderly client he represented. Woodbury resident Robert Barry waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to one count of wire fraud for his role in a scheme to defraud elderly client trust accounts over the course of more than seven years. Barry, 77, was a partner in the law firm of Sturges and Mathes in Southbury, which specializes in trust and estates work. Area Man Nabbed For Illegally Importing Dogs, Police Say
A wanted Connecticut man is facing a series of charges for allegedly illegally importing dogs and running an illegal pet shop after being busted at a Route 6 restaurant, state police announced on Monday. Bethlehem resident Dominic Dinunzio, 57, was arrested by state police on July 19, when troopers spotted him at the restaurant in Woodbury. Teen Westport Stolen Car Suspect Tasered After Fleeing From Police
A teenager who was already wanted by police for failing to appear in court on numerous previous charges was tasered after attempting to flee officers investigating a stolen car from Westport and several nearby vehicle break-ins.
