Trio Arrested Following Fight With Bats After Firewood Theft, Police Say
Three people were arrested after one was caught allegedly stealing firewood which led to a fight between the group.
The incident took place on around 3:56 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25 when Rolen Altamirano, 50 and Beatriz Altamirano, 42, both of Weston, became involved in a dispute with Leslie Philibert, 45, of Danbury, said Wilton Police Capt. Robert Cipolla.
According to Cipolla, the Altamirano's rented a space for their business at 978 Danbury Road where they also store wood.

Man Arrested For DWI After Driving Too Fast With Open Wine Bottle In Porsche, Wilton PD Says
A Wilton man driving a red 1986 Porsche 933 was nabbed for alleged DWI following a traffic stop for driving too fast.
Robert Anthony Hartman, 59, was stopped on Saturday, Dec. 28, after Wilton Police clocked him allegedly driving 55 mph in a 30 mph zone near the intersection of Wolfpit Road with Belden Hill Road, Wilton Police said.
During the traffic stop, officers directed Hartman to pull into a business driveway on Wolfpit Road, but instead of pulling in Hartman allegedly stopped in front of the business, police said.

Man Allegedly Allowed Minors To Drink At Large Party In Wilton, Police Say
A 59-year-old man was arrested after allegedly allowing minors to drink during a large party in the area.
Patrick Cropper, 59, of Wilton, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 20, when Wilton Police officers were dispatched to the area of Sturges Ridge Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle, police said.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a party was taking place and when they approached the residence, a large group of people were seen running into an adjacent property, Wilton Police said.

ID Released For Boy Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle In Driveway Of New Canaan Home
The identity of the toddler who was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a New Canaan home has been released.
The nearly 2-year-old boy, now identified as Lucas Richard McGee, was hit around 8:42 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the home on North Wilton Road, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. The boy's date of birth is Dec. 31, 2017.
New Canaan Police, along with New Canaan Fire, and New Canaan Emergency Medical Services first responders arrived at the residence within minutes of the incident to provide emergency medical care, Ferraro said.

Stamford Man Charged With DUI After Failing To Drive In Single Lane, Wilton Police Say
A 47-year-old area man was arrested for DUI and other charges following a traffic stop for failing to stay in a single lane.
Leo LaForce, of Stamford, was arrested on Friday, Nov 6, after Wilton Police spotted his 2018 Jaguar F-type traveling south on Danbury Road while failing to maintain a single lane, Wilton Police said.
During a traffic stop, officers found that LaForce allegedly had slurred speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes, with an odor of alcohol coming from his breath, police said.
LaForce agrees to take a field sobriety test which he failed.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop for speeding.
Charles Anthony Nunez-Rivera, of Danbury, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 26, after being stopped in his 2012 BMW X5 for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone, said the Wilton Police.
During the stop, officers noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Redding Man Nabbed In Check Fraud Scheme
A Redding man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for allegedly changing the amount due on checks from a client and making off with $39,000.
Micha Harpaz, 63, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 22, on 21 counts of forgery following a check fraud investigation at his business, Menopause Matters, LLC., said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.
According to Kluk, Harpaz would allegedly change the amount on the checks before depositing them, for a total of $39,000.
He was also charged with one count of larceny.

A 43-year-old man has been charged with DUI after he was pulled over for driving erratically in Fairfield County, according to police.
Wilton Police say they responded to a report of a motorist driving erratically on Danbury Road on Sunday, Sept. 29 around 9:15 p.m.
The motorist, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, almost hit a guardrail before swerving into another lane, according to police.
